| Smoking is already forbidden at restaurants and other indoor venues within the parks, as well as in the lines for rides and in viewing areas for parades featuring such characters as Hercules, Disney spokeswoman Rena Callahan said.
Beginning on Jan. 30, smoking within the parks will be allowed only within designated zones yet to be chosen, she said.
``We are trying to accommodate people who want to smoke and people who worry about smoking's effects,'' she said.
The new smoking restrictions do not apply to Disney parks in Tokyo or Paris or at hotels at Walt Disney World in Florida. Tobacco products can still be purchased at the Disney World hotels, but have not been available within the theme parks since last summer, Callahan said. |
