Lawmakers Plan On Spending

The major issue facing state lawmakers returning for the fall veto session will be how to spend Illinois' portion of the tobacco settlement.
W-A-N-D reports that state Senator Larry Bomke wants to use some of the billions of dollars to pay for more health programs, but state Comptroller Dan Hynes wants to give some of it back to taxpayers instead. Other legislators will argue that the windfall should be used for education.
