Por Larranaga Cigars
Genuine Habanos Por Larranaga cigars from Cuba. The quality of the Habanos Cuban cigar is the result of the mystical union of four elements: soil, varieties of Cuban black tobacco, climate and the wisdom of Cuba's agricultural workers and cigar makers.
Por Larrañaga cigars use tobacco leaves coming from Vuelta Abajo (Pinar del Río). Enveloped in a fine cedar lea; they are a true work of art because of their exquisite display.
In 1834, the brand was established by the Spaniard named Ignacio Larrañaga. In 1925, Por Larranaga turned out to be the first factory to produce machine-made cigars, which soon resulted in a boycott by factory workers. At the time of the revolution, Por Larrañaga became the sixth largest producing Cuban brand, and it remained a respectable and popular premium cigar brand up until the 1970s.
In the 1980s, the production of the trademark was drastically reduced and export distribution limited to just a handful of countries, primarily Canada
The 2006 year is marked by the release of approximately 2,000 boxes of Por Larrañaga Lonsdales which had been discontinued in the 1980s, for exclusive distribution in Germany. That release made the Por Larrañaga Lonsdale Exclusivo Alemania cigars the most desirable collectors item, that is almost impossible to find in modern time.
Generally associated with a caramel sweetness, Por Larranaga are rich and aromatic cigars with powerful flavors. They have an aroma that is less pronounced than other Cuban brands.Their production is very limited, which means procuring them could prove to be quite difficult. Nevertheless, they are highly sought by aficionados who prefer traditional Cuban flavors.
